At this year’s Victoria’s Secret show, we saw more unreal musical performances, history was made, and we said goodbye to one of our favorite angels. It’s fair to say that 2018 was a huge year for the lingerie brand, and one that – once again – made us put down the chocolate and go on a health kick.
The show took place on the 8th November in Now York at Pier 94. We saw the world’s biggest models including Kendall Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Winnie Harlow and the VS regulars such as Adriana Lima, Leomie Anderson and Cindy Bruna. As models made their way down the runway, artists such as Bebe Rexha, Halsey, Rita Ora and Shawn Mendes sang chart topping tunes, giving the whole event an electric atmosphere.
It wouldn’t be a Victoria’s Secret show without the angel wings, which made an appearance towards the end of the show. The costumes transformed throughout the catwalk, ranging from cosmic vibes to girly pink lingerie sets.
“This year's show-stopping piece was created using 100 per cent Swarovski Creted Diamonds and responsibly sourced topaz. Valued at $1 million, the 2018 Dream Angels Fantasy Bra and body chain are adorned with over 2,100 Swarovski Created Diamonds in a sterling silver Dream Angels bra silhouette.”
Whilst Charlotte Tilbury was the lead sponsor of the 2018 show, Mary Katrantzou (an up-coming fashion designer seen at this year’s LFW) collaborated on some of the lingerie designs.
History was made this year as Winnie Harlow debuts in her first ever Victoria’s Secret show as the first model with vitiligo. There’s no question about it, she looked incredible in a pink lingerie set and floral all-in-one outfit. So dreamy…
Adriana Lima closed the show for the very last time after 20 years of walking the VS catwalk. Being the longest serving angel, she posted on Instagram an emotional goodbye to confirm her retirement.
