Backstage Beauty

Posted by Editorial Team on

We’ve seen some incredible capsule collections walk down the catwalk over the past weeks and had the pleasure of seeing some of the fiercest street styles in London / New York during Fashion Week. After the backstage experience of the Halpern S/S19 show this month, we were completely inspired by the fabulous makeup looks that complimented each outfit. (Read all about it in previous blog post here - https://glossypops.com/blogs/glossy-pops-blog/a-day-on-set-with-halpern-at-lfw ). It has even given us some motivation to be more creative with our own beauty rituals…

Jeremy Scott

You may have seen the blog post we did about this trend but were still obsessed! It’s so easy to walk out the door every day and not bother (or simply forget) to put on lipstick. But Jeremy Scott has proved it’s worth it to invest in the lip trend. If you’re forgetful or don’t have time in the morning, keep a Glossy Pop in your bag from the Cosmic Waves collection. Easy!

Precision is needed along with a steady hand to get your winged eyeline this sharp. We love the bold, graphic eyeliner from the Marni collection, giving a fresh twist on the regular flick. Just as we started to master the winged eyeliner, this is stepping up to a whole new level.

The Prada catwalk was by far one of the most beautiful, yet so simplistic and minimal in color. The theatrical performance was something of beauty as dance inspired Maria Grazia Chiuri’s s/s19 collection. This graphic liner is a little more -out there- but still something we’re so tempted to try! The bold lines combined with a fresh skin tone and ballerina-inspired headbands gives the perfect accompaniment to the choreographed performance. Minimal and beautiful- the braver you are with the kohl liner, the better!

As previously mentioned, the Halpern show was an exceptional display of dazzling sequins and bold patterns. What better way to pair this than with dramatic eyes- with plenty of glitter! How could we say no. Apply for a night out and all eyes will be on you!

Twiggy vibes were all we could think about for the Prada S/S19 colelction. Each look was completed with a headband and bold, thick lashes. Channel your inner Blair Waldorf with the old-school details like the jewel encrusted headbands and dewy skin. To make the eye lashes look extra dramatic, draw on shadows of the lashes on the eye lid to create the most dramatic 60’s look.

Bushy brows are here to stay! Master the boy brow and avoid over plucking as Moschino’s backstage beauty includes full, fluffy eyebrows. We love the 90’s brown lipstick to accompany this, making it the perfect autumnal look for this season! We simply couldn’t wait until next summer to try out this trend.

Victoria Beckham

Minimalism at its best- Victoria Beckham keeps things simple with gelled back hair and barely-there makeup. No need to hide behind make-up, brave the bare face and your skin will thank you for it!

Simone Rocha

It may be the end of summer but were not saying goodbye to festival glitter just yet. The simple addition of silver in the inner corners of you eye make an artistic statement, but without going completely OTT. Match this with some statement earrings and you’ve got the Simone Rocha look covered.

The photos that have been ALL over Instagram these past few weeks. We can fully understand as these are beyond beautiful. The most feminine, girly and over the top beauty looks, yet done gracefully and delicately. Pastel eye shadow is set to be a huge trend for next spring/summer so this leaves plenty of time to get practicing. The flowers in the hair may be a tad extra for us, but hey, if you’re feeling up to it- why the hell not?! We’re clinging onto summer and these are bound to make the day that little bit brighter.
