A NYFW 2018 PREVIEW

New York Fashion Week ranks among the top most anticipated annual fashion events and celebrates its 75th year. We are so excited to be launching Glossy Pops in the US on Thursday 6th September, the first day of the 75th NYFW and to mark the occasion we will be giving the first 75 online customers a free limited edition Glossy Pops make-up bag!

When does New York Fashion Week begin and end?

The NYFW schedule runs September 6th - 12th. There are some familiar names such as Vivienne Westwood, Jason Wu, Christian Siriano as well as some newcomers.  September 12th marks the last day of New York Fashion Week and is usually the most intense as there's so much happening! Highlights of that day include Marc Jacobs at 6 p.m and Fenty.

What’s special about NYFW in 2018?

If you’re wondering whether this is the year to skip New York Fashion Week, here’s a tidbit to tempt you to attend: Vogue promises that “the schedule is looking more exciting than it has in seasons.”

Designers are playing the role of host this year, with lunches, breakfast shows, and even a black-tie sunset dinner on the schedule this year. The latter results from Ralph Lauren’s 50th year as fashion king with his anniversary celebration will be held in Central Park.

Rihanna is set to be there. The superstar’s size-inclusive Savage x Fenty line of lingerie, undies and intimate accessories will close eight days of fashion with an “immersive experience” the night of September 12th in Brooklyn.

Longchamp are going big too, as the company marks 70 years in business with its first full-scale runway show in New York. It was a big American-themed year for the house with the opening of a Fifth Avenue flagship store, a collaboration with Shayne Oliver and Kendall Jenner as its new face.

Remembering Kate Spade

It’s only been three months since Kate Spade’s heartbreaking suicide. Tributes to Spade during fashion week are anticipated, and the brand itself will be holding its first runway show this year.
